Tom Kompas is Deputy Director of the Crawford School and Director of the International and Development Economics (IDEC) Program. He is also a Senior Research  Economist at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE). Tom received his PhD in economics from the University of Toronto and teaches Masters Microeconomics and Applied Economic Dynamics at ANU. He specializes in  economic dynamics, agricultural economics, productivity, and natural resource and environmental economics. The author of over 80 professional and technical papers and several books, Tom received the 2004 Crawford Award for Research Excellence from ABARE and is currently Editor of the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics . In 2008 Tom received the ‘Award for Teaching Excellence’ from The College of Asia and the Pacific at the ANU.
