Economics of Australian Greenhouse Gas Control
The ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society is offering one or two top-up scholarships for PhD candidates at the ANU to work on the economics of controlling Australia's greenhouse gas emissions, especially the roughly three-quarters of emissions that are CO2 from burning fossil fuels.
These scholarships are part of Project 11 of the ANU Environmental Economics Research Hub (EERH). These top-ups pay a total of $24,000 ($6,000 per year as a stipend, and $2,000 per year toward research-related expenses, over three years). You would study at the Fenner School under the main supervision of Dr Jack Pezzey for either a PhD in Economics, which usually starts with a year's coursework; or a PhD in Environment.
You must already have or expect to have principal funding in the form of an APA or similar scholarship, and start your PhD in 2008, or are already enrolled and start your thesis research in 2008. Successful applicants can also benefit from links to policymakers through the EERH.
Applications are accepted until places are filled.
