Pacific Trade And Development ConferenceThis year will mark the 34th PAFTAD conference, which is to be hosted by the China Centre for Economic Research at Peking University. The theme for the Conference is ‘China's role in the World Economy’. |

The China Overseas Foreign Direct Investment Roundtable will be hosted by the Development Research Center of the State Council of China, the China Center for Economic Research and the East Asian Bureau of Economic Research. The roundtable will be held in Beijing. |
November 30 and December 1 |
The Federalism and Integration Conference will be part of a research project of the South Asia Bureau of Economic Research and will held in New Delhi. The major themes will be the challenges faced by central governments in federal systems when attempting to implement nation-wide reforms. |
| October 27 | The Asia Climate Change Policy Forum hosted by EABER/SABER. The Forum is being convened by Professor Stephen Howes and Professor Peter Drysdale to facilitate dialogue across countries to deepen understanding of the prospects for and possibilities of national and international action. |
| October 4 | Rebalancing Asian Growth: Challenges of Structural Reform and the Role of Exchange-Rate Policies. Seoul Roundtable on Strong, Sustainable and Balanced Growth in Asia-Pacific co-organized by EABER, the Korea National Committee on Pacific Economic Cooperation and the Indonesian National Committee on Pacific Economic Cooperation. |
| August 24 | The Roundtable on Russia and the New Asia Pacific Architecture was hosted by the East Asia Forum and the Crawford School. The roundtable provided an opportunity for discussion with Professor Georgy Toloraya, a top Russian specialist on the Asia Pacific region and Korea. |

The China Update was hosted by Rio Tinto and ANU China Partnership. This is an annual event where world-leading experts present the latest research on the Chinese economy. The 2010 9th edition of the China Update Book Series was released the day before the conference. |
July 12 - 13 |
The Emerging Scholars Conference was hosted by East Asia Forum at the ANU. The theme was Asia’s economic and political challenges and how to deal with them. The Conference identified and engaged tope emerging scholars from around the world and promoted high-level academic discourse on East Asian issues. |

Advancing Economic Integration in South and East Asia Conference was hosted by EABER/SABER. The focus of the conference was policy, institutions and structural reform in South and East Asia and involved high-level participation on economic issues relevant to policymakers in the region. |

EABER, with the Korea National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation (KOPEC) and the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Jakarta, hosted a workshop on ‘The G20 2010, East Asia and Korea’ in Seoul. |

East Asia Forum wins 2009 VC Award for Innovation and Excellence in Service Quality |

‘Seizing the Moment: APEC 2010 and 2011.’ Private roundtable and public forum hosted in Tokyo, in conjunction with the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Foundation, and the Keizai Doyukai. The Roundtable provided the opportunity to assess APEC’s progress on its core agenda and to forge a strategy for the next few years. |

EABER and CCER at Peking University hosted a Roundtable on Chinese FDI, held on the 16th May 2009. The workshop was attended by Chinese government officials, academia and business leaders and focused on the issues regarding Chinese outward foreign direct investment, including Chinese State Owned Enterprises in Australia and the importance of FDI for the internationalisation of Chinese industries. |

In Beijing, EABER, in partnership with the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) in the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS), hosted a conferences on Advancing Economic Integration in South and East Asia titled Financial Sector Reforms and Economic Integration in Asia |

The ANU’s China Institute, Climate Change Institute, China Economy and Business Program and the East Asia Forum co-host a two-day Australia-China Forum on Energy and Climate Change. The China Energy Project, an ongoing collaborative research project between EAF and China’s Energy Research Institute on China and East Asian Energy Issues, meet on the first day for research discussions, and a high level public forum was held on the following day. |
