What doctoral studies can I undertake @ Crawford?

What doctoral studies can I undertake at Crawford?

At ANU, Graduate Studies Research Fields bring together doctoral students and staff with common research interests who may be located in different academic areas.  Within the Crawford School students can choose to enrol in one of the following four graduate research fields.

Economics

Students enrolled in the Economics graduate field undertake a program of full-time study that normally occupies a period of 3 years, compromising two parts: Coursework (Part A) and Research (Part B).  Research commences after successful completion of coursework requirements.  All PhD candidates must complete both parts of the doctoral program.

Part A normally consists of two consecutive semesters of coursework.  Part B consists of research and participation in seminars and/or workshops and submission of a thesis.  Part B normally continues for between 2 and 3 years.

Students wishing to undertake a PhD in Economics whose first language is not English are required to have an IELTS of 6.5 and no score less than 6.

Environmental Studies and Resource Management

Students enrolled in the Environmental Studies and Resource Management graduate field may be required to undertake some coursework if their supervisor considers this is necessary.

Students wishing to undertake a PhD in Environmental Studies and Resource Management whose first language is not English are required to have an IELTS of 7 with a 7 in writing and no score less than 6.5.

Political Science and International Relations or Public Policy

Students enrolled in the Political Science and International Relations or the Public Policy graduate field must complete Research Methods (12 points) with a Distinction level result.  Students may also be asked to undertake two or three additional courses if their supervisor believes this is necessary.

Students wishing to undertake a PhD in Political Science and International Relations or Public Policy whose first language is not English are required to have an IELTS of 7 with a 7 in writing and no score less than 6.5.
