Master of Environmental Management and Development

Duration: 1 year full time, 2 to 4 years part time
Minimum: 48 units

The Master of Environmental Management and Development builds on individual discipline-based technical and analytical skills acquired at the Graduate Diploma or honours undergraduate level by deepening and broadening your knowledge of social, ecological and economic concepts and paradigms underpinning economic development and environmental conservation decisions.

The courses particularly emphasise integrated research analysis and decision making to achieve the goals of economic viability, social acceptability and ecological integrity, within differing social and political contexts. Case studies of projects in developing and developed countries are used extensively during the degree program to illustrate the application of integrated biophysical and socioeconomic approaches.
