New Public Management Training Program for Vietnamese Ministers
Vietnam ALA Fellows Alumni Chapter
Welcome to the Vietnam Alumni Page. The ‘New Public Management Training Program for Vietnamese Ministers’ ran for 3 weeks from:
6 – 28 November
The 23 participants of this course were all appointed as Australian Leadership Award Fellows (ALA) to learn about New Public Management. The aims of the course were to develop appropriately trained current and aspiring Vietnamese leaders in priority areas who, in the short-to-medium term, will be in a position to advance key regional policy issues. The course had a particular focus on:
- enhancing the competencies of Vietnamese public servants in public sector management by drawing on Australian expertise
- building capacity in the Vietnamese public service to take a strategic approach to global and emerging risks requiring a whole-of-government approach; and
- promoting ongoing relationships between the Vietnamese government and key Australian academics and public servants in the view of closer international economic integration.
