Lynelle Briggs

Chief Executive Officer, Medicare Australia

Lynelle Briggs took up the appointment of Chief Executive Officer of Medicare Australia in August 2009.  She was the Australian Public Service Commissioner from November 2004 to August 2009.

Ms Briggs has been with the Australian Public Service for 28 years. Her career has involved time in the former Department of Social Security, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Treasury and the then Department of Health and Aged Care. Ms Briggs was also employed by the New Zealand Treasury for two years. From June 2001 to 2004, Ms Briggs was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Transport and Regional Services.
