Graham stepped down in late 2003 after eight years as Managing Director at Perpetual Trustees Australia, to pursue a career as a professional company director and to devote time to his personal and philanthropic interests Graham was named Business Leader of the Year 2002 – Financial Services by the Institute of Chartered Accountants/Zurich Financial

Graham also holds a number of other significant roles, some of which include Chairman of Anglo American Australia Limited, Valley Energy Limited and Film Finance Corporation Australia Limited. He is also Director of MBF Australia Limited and Singapore Telecommunications Limited among many others.
